The business of workplace health and safety

11 February 2010

With health and safety in the workplace currently topping the business agenda, the Safety In Action Conference is tipped as a key highlight of the Trade Show of the same name in April.

Safety In Action is presented by the Victorian Division of the Safety Institute of Australia (the peak industry body dedicated to health and safety) and sponsored by WorkSafe Victoria, the event benefits from the backing of a leading professional organisation and Victoria's state health and safety regulator.

The Safety In Action Conference will feature more than 70 Australian and international speakers providing insight on OH&S policy, best practice, harmonisation and a host of other relevant health and safety issues.

With health and safety topics covered by last year's Conference including public safety; managing safety in small and medium businesses; lessons from major health and safety incidents; and the future of transport safety, the positive reaction to the 2009 event heralds a strong turnout for the upcoming 2010 Conference. This will see leading health and safety experts presenting the latest thinking on key OH&S issues.

For anyone in the health and safety field, the 2010 Safety In Action Conference and Safety in Action Trade Show are must-see events. Taking place from 20-22 April 2010 at Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre, they promise to provide all attendees with an inside track on OH&S.

I sincerely think that health and safety incidents can be eliminated. However focus of safety managers and all the employees should not weaken. To keep focus sharp it is so important to visit the safety shows like yours regularly.
